Map Your Day
Now that you know about the design process, let’s practice using it! An important distinction between design thinking and other types of problem solving is its focus on empathizing and understanding users. So in this stage, you will understand yourself through self-observation and data collection for one full day. These observations increase awareness of your current state and values so you can better define your goals for being a leader and changemaker!
Steps
1) Mapping with Data
Every 2 hours or when you change places/what you are doing, rate your energy and happiness levels using the template (below). If you’d like, you can also add more categories to track.

2) Mapping with Images
Think about all the things you did that day and draw a map of your activities on a blank piece of paper. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Use your creativity!
3) Reflect and Share with the Group
Congratulations! You have just used both your left and right brains to observe yourself today.
Reflection Question: What did you observe about yourself, and did anything surprise you?
Share pictures of your graph and map on the Facebook Group with the answer to the reflection question above, and comment on other participants’ pictures.
