2014 XSEL Project Goals
Team Project Guidelines
Participants will have the opportunity to work in teams to address a real-world problem during the program. Project leaders* will present their project proposals on Friday of the first week. Participants will rank the projects based on their interest. 2-3 projects will be predetermined by program staff. An additional 3-4 projects will be selected from those presented by participant project leaders.
Teams of 5-7 people will be organized based on participants' interests, backgrounds, and skill sets to create diverse and cross-cultural teams. Over the next week, teams will work together to develop their project and build a presentation. They will be assisted and advised by the coordinators and other staff. Each group will present their project by the end of the second week.
*Who can be a project leader?
If you are interested in leading a team on a project during the program, you will be asked inform the staff by the middle of July. You can use this resource to help you develop your ideas: https://www.youth-competition.org/groups/entrepreneurship-competition-2013/courses/module-1. We encourage everyone who has a project idea to pitch it to other participants - it is a great way to develop presentation skills for communicating your ideas.
