Leadership is about inspiring a group of people to work collectively towards a shared vision. People are not just born leaders. You can learn the skills needed to become an effective leader. Let's start now!
Stage 1: Read the Student Leadership Challenge
The Student Leadership Challenge provides a framework for new leaders to develop effective leadership skills. This framework has been used across cultures and will be the basis for leadership training during the program. All staff and participants will be practicing the 5 steps of the leadership challenge during XSEL.
The authors believe YOU, XSEL participants, can become great leaders! They have generously sponsored your training materials, and Barry Posner and his wife, Jackie, will be coming to speak to you during the program.
Stage 2: Write a Letter to Yourself (Bring to Stanford)
In this final reflection activity, you will write a letter to your future self one month from today. Who are you now, and who will you be after XSEL?
Stage 3: Take the Lead
In this stage, read about the many opportunities to step up and practice your leadership skills during the program, and sign up for an activity.
